In the early morning light and looking through the tunnel

The sun continues to rise even though my heart feels as decimated as my bed of pumpkin plants.

I'm sharing some pics of plants that are thriving in the tunnel. Click individual pics for larger images and more info. I am so grateful the tunnel held up through the devastating hail storm that obliterated my outside beds. Yesterday and today I've been hiding out inside of it, soothing myself by nurturing and photographing some of the healthy plants inside.

Yes, I know that some of the plants outside will recover and eventually produce *if* we don't get hit a FOURTH time; but at the moment, it's demoralizing to be out there. I'm doing the best I can and I know every day will get better.

Good morning,
I'm writing to say how sorry I am to see the losses you've experienced this year. I cried with you when I saw the posts and pictures of the devastation. It's not right and it's not normal. I applaud your courage to keep going, knowing that every step is hard and every step is heart breaking.
I live in a little pocket that did not get washed away or decimated by hail. There was damage but nothing by comparison.
This morning I harvested some rhubarb. Big beautiful stalks with leaves so huge, they could be worn as a hat. I'm telling you this because I bought those amazing healthy plants from you! Now in their 2nd (or full first) season, they are wonderful sturdy plants that I will have for years to come. All because of you, your dedication and your gift with plants. My silent thanks while harvesting was not enough; hence this note. All the plants I've gotten from you have thrived!
I'm grateful that you do what you do, here in the East Mountains, as a neighbor and a friend.
Thank you.
Susannah Faith

Susannah, thank you so much for taking time to write this comment. It means more than you could possibly imagine right now. Thank you, friend.
